The Beginning.... The Fraternity of Delta Omega Epsilon was founded on April 15, 1985 by Brother Richard Pelestri
and Brother Sal Leone on the campus of The College of Staten Island. Delta Omega Epsilon was the first fraternity to be charted
at this school. We were a co-ed (farority) Greek Organization. We were established to form a brotherhood, something that reaches
beyond that of a friendship. Twenty-five brothers and sisters formed the unity which exists to this day. In 1991, Delta Omega
Epsilon went inactive.
Reformation...
On September 22, 1994, Brother George Zapantis got together with Brother
Jimmy Matheos along with 11 Brothers to re-establish Delta Omega Epsilon. The Brothers of Delta Omega Epsilon picked up where
the chapter had ended in 1991.
Beta Chapter...
During the Fall 0f 1995, Brother Seth Meyerson transferred
to SUNY Delhi. He met up with the president of another local fraternity, Alpha Sigma Xi who had to change their letters. President
Joe Congedo went to his fraternity brothers and decided to change over to Delta Omega Epsilon. Twelve new brothers were the
founders of the Beta Chapter. The new brothers transferred their ways to the ways of Delta Omega Epsilon. Within days, we
were a big power on the campus of SUNY Delhi.
Gamma Chapter...
During the fall semester of 1996, Brother Chris
Delgado transferred from SUNY Delhi to SUNY Oneonta. He met up with seven guys who wanted to start a fraternity they pledged
under Brother Chris and the Beta Chapter began at SUNY Delhi. All are considered the founding fathers to bring about the Gamma
Chapter.
Delta Chapter...
In The Fall of 1998, Brother Rafael Torres from the Beta Chapter Transferred to
SUNY Cobleskill and recruited 5 future brothers to pledge. In December 1998 they formed the Delta Chapter At SUNY Cobleskill.
Epsilon Chapter...
During the Spring semester of 2002, Brother Mike Mansky along with Brother George Maywin
of the gamma chapter got together at SUNY Morrisville and recruited a group of 15 guys to pledge. On February 28th 2002 they
formed the Epsilon Chapter of Delta Omega Epsilon.
Zeta Chapter...
During the Fall of 2002 Brother Dibar Gamboa
of the Delta Chapter transferred to SUNY Utica/Rome and got together with a group guys interested in pledging a fraternity.
On November 1st 2002 they formed the Zeta chapter of Delta Omega Epsilon.
